Abstract |
This study attempted to enhance the student’s intonation skills using short animated cartoons,
and to explore the students’ opinions on using short animated cartoons. From the convenient
sampling method, 30 Mattayomsuksa 1 students who studied in the second semester of the
academic year 2017 at Phuwiengwittayakhom school, Phuwieng district, Khon Kaen
province ( the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 25 ), were selected as the
participants of the study. The instruments used for collecting the data were lesson plans,
pre/post-test, role play quizzes and questionnaire. The data was analyzed by the Statistical
Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) for mean scores ( ̅X), standard deviation (S.D.) and t-test.
The findings from the pre and post-tests proved that short animated cartoons were found to be
effective for enhancing intonations with a significant value of p .05. And from the finding of
the questionnaire, it showed the students had positive attitude towards the use of short
animated cartoons with the mean ( ̅X) of 4.35 and the S.D. of 0.34. All in all that the use of
short animated cartoons successfully helped enhance student’s intonation skills. |
