| บทคัดย่อ |
The public participation has been widely used for seeking to enable the better decision-making in the strategic urban planning, particularly in local and municipal level, towards the participatory democracy, transparency in the decision-making
process, community empowerment and support, and avoidance of conflict over
decisions between decision-makers and public groups, and between the groups. This
paper aims to describe the determinant features underpinning the public participation in Khon Kaen municipal’s planning and development system under the context of the fashionably conceptual trend of the smart city in Thailand. Thai legitimate framework of people participation in a municipality, supervising and facilitating system, the promotion of market and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the use of social media, fashionable image of smart city in the strategic urban development, and the change of citizen’s attitude and sense of belonging have been acknowledged as the primary components of public participation in the development of Khon Kaen City. |
